To Capture The Perfect Image

dusting her lens
trigger finger happy
the sky looks promising
as clouds roll by
with a blue behind as true
to capture
the perfect image

here and there, she’s drawn
by passions call
her eye, the center of her camera
tripod stands in wait
as she scans the horizon
to capture
the perfect image

the sunrise awakens her soul
the air fresh filling her lungs
it fuels her desires
long day of hope
as dusk approaches
to capture
the perfect image

the moon and the stars
they fill her bright
in the dark of night
but its the fall of the sun
that excites her hearts rise
to capture
the perfect image

the one, the time of day
she waits with fettered breaths
the end, she seeks
a change from blues to tangerine
mixed with pinks and oranges
to capture
the perfect image

the sun, as it sets in the west
stares at her, as she does at it
hoping, tonight is the night
where perfect
meets a still
to capture
the perfect image

she sighs from her eyes
as heaven bleeds down
brushing the sky with love
kisses after kisses
in the form of clicks and shutters
to capture
the perfect image

I usually choose a pic to accompany my poem but decided not to in this case.
This poem is dedicated to all the photographers who share their passion and who inspire so many words to capture the perfect image.

  1. This is deliciously beautiful, like I was drawn there in the poem for the
perfect picture….breathtaking:) I, myself have took several sunset
pictures, so I know the feeling ALL too well;)

      1. To me liking Rush is a sign of good musical taste! Me and Neil share a birthday too…connected to Rush at birth! My fav album was also released that year (1975)…2112!
