So many choices,
don’t know what to do.
Doing what we’re taught,
at home, church and school.
Playing games with pictures,
which ones not the same.
5 fruits that are bright.
a lone vegetable in dark green.
A wedding is a holy sacrament,
children out of wedlock a sin.
Being gay, you know what they say,
devils work at play.
Parents push the grind,
coffee stains the rug.
Pizza is here,
…not another night.
Homework never done,
parents out back drinking rum.
Good night mumbled under breath,
nods are the replies that you get.

So many choices,
don’t know what to do.
Doing what we’re taught,
at home, church and school.
Playing games to share,
knowledge is for everyone.
What is different if not the same,
an eclectic state of what we crave.
Love, in itself is a bond,
no need for sacrificial praise.
Two men or two women,
love has no shame.
Parents still push the grind,
cups with lids saves the day.
Kids learned to make a salad,
something about mixing fruits and veggies at school.
A father who leads by example,
a mom who posts your good grades.
A goodnight, in a family setting,
is said with a hug and tucking.
