The Moment of Clarity

The first hurts like hell, striking bolts of lightning
Drugs kicking in, it didn’t mask the pain shooting
As it scorched through the arm burning
It consumed, this fools yearning

The second, like the first, made me yell
I thought of the time I fell
Laying on the ground, waiting for the bell
To end the hurt that makes my head swell

The third, went in without a twitch
Joining the other two like a hitch
Blood now flowing warm and rich
But it still hurts like a bitch

The fourth one hit bone
It made a sound, it made me moan
A pause to feel the scrapping tone
It put me deep into the zone

The fifth pierced true
Guiding blood to drip through
A vision appeared in my head with a view
Of the sadness that has kept me blue

The sixth pushed in, followed by number seven
Breathing heavy, keeping long slow breaths even
Continued on with, 8, 9, 10 and eleven
On and on the need of accession

Twelve and thirteen was easy
The moment of clarity hits…doing this is fucking crazy!
A rush that propels my senses greedy
Like a whore continuously taking it sleazy

The fourteenth nail, the final one
Saved for the base of the thumb
Droopy eyes staring down dumb
Dreams in a sleep, now come undone
