An Ode to Dandelion Wishes

A brief hello turned long with time
The feeling within that gaps the distance
Would be treacherous, a day to walk without
Constant wanderings, dreams come about
The image of a voice, rings inside the head
Drawn to a ghost from another village
Immortal is the hope in faith, that love brings
An ode to dandelion wishes, an angel sings
Held in hand a make-believe tradition
A severed stem, holds a delicate spindle
With eyes closed shut, tight, the nose wrinkles
Drawing in, filling the lungs
Slowly, breath over lips, comes steady
Fluttering, umbrella florets dance in air
Swirling, they float descending
Repeating the rhyme
Wish, you were mine
