Unholy Chalice

There was no word to describe the first breath taken
For it was pure, without sin, the air filling in
The taste of paradise was all they knew
No right or wrong, just living free
Temptation lured a heart of want
How could it be, to be tempted like that
To want more than what paradise has given
A single bite that tears the fabric of life
The swallow of knowledge to inherit the earth
And all that it has to create a path of destruction

Disobedience, the first of many
Skulls started stacking up, murder with malice
A new church sprung from the darkest depths
It had no name, until fire lit it up and everyone yelled, Hell!
The flames burned away the character lines on faces
Those that made unique in creed, colour and races
Here, where bone becomes stone faceless
The sky never seen, stars and moon forgotten
Cradled and huddled, spun in circles
A pedestal holds the Unholy Chalice

A monument of time, a collectors collection
Designing a temple that would hold the spirit
Of the damned and lost who gave up on life
Filling the cup, with blood, drawn by a knife
Slashing, piercing, controlling the pain
Fuelled by the dark from inside the mind
Depression is found hiding
Past, present and future, hurting
There is no heaven, no hell
The end comes with the final bell

The Arms of Jesus Surrounds His Flock

Jesus-Good-Shepherd-follows-sheep

Hide behind a darkness that consumes,
the light obscured,
held captive among the fumes.

Still there after all,
the fire that lives within controlled by demons,
while chained against a wall.

Shackled and collared unable to breathe,
with each inhale the fire burns inside,
a thousand degrees the lungs seethe.

Voices echo with a truth that only death can spell,
it recites the horrid rituals,
performed in hell.

With every ounce of flesh burned,
decaying beasts torment,
as horns and tails are earned.

Dare we fight the struggle of our divine, that it may set our hearts free.

Dare we spread our wings that we may soar above the mystic sea.

Dare we take the embraceable leap that will unchain a sweet melody.

Removing the cold hard steel,
that leaves us choking,
air fills, that it may begin to heal.

The embers inside continues to live,
still there after all,
for the pain endured will never forgive.

With our saviors breeze,
carries the hope of being set free,
satans flame to freeze.

It shows the way with light of heaven above,
it cools the pain,
in its own burning flame of love.

Embracing the soul to weak to walk,
even in a life of doubt,
the arms of Jesus surrounds his flock.

Say Something ~ a tri-collaboration

God stands to look over his flock
His eyes watered, a tear welled
He remembered the beginning
He recalled the love that was put
Into creating a world, that lives and breathes
With life of every kind, one, with a mind
He bowed His head and He shook
He bit his lip, blood dripped
~
“Say something, I’m giving up on you”
Wasted plea she whispers upon His crown
Starved by the flaccid attention He feeds His sheep
She licks the remains of their tithed release
Her faith diminished under the glow of his halo
Seeking salvation that He denies with feigned grace
Forsaken by poetic scripture He inks for them
She flees to the darkness under wing of another false prophet
~
“I don’t love you, but I always will”
Is what He sees and hears from above
His flock refusing His saving grace
Relying on themselves, shunning His love
Through the pain, realization comes
They are what He created, and given free will
As their Father, He’ll always love them
and the choice to accept His love, is theirs
~
“Say something, I’m giving up on you”
The silence was deafening as thunder shakes
“Say something, I’m giving up on you”
Tears fall as her scorned heart breaks
“Say something, I’m giving up on you”
His heart breaks from their continued rejection
“Say something I’m giving up on you”
~
I surrender in blood and ashes
As the angels weep tears of sorrow
Heaven and Earth stills in reflection
